പ്രതിഭാ വളരാം തളരാം.പക്ഷെ അത് വൈകൃതം ആയാലോ? ഒരൂ കാലത്ത് മലയാള ചലച്ചിത്രത്തിനൂം , സംഗിതത്തിനും മഹത്തായ സംഭാവനകള്‍ നല്‍കിയ നമ്മുടെ മഹാ പ്രതിഭകള്‍ക്കൂ എന്ത് സംഭവിച്ചു?
നിര്‍മാല്യം ,ഒരൂ വടക്കന്‍ വീരഗാഥ ,പഞ്ചാഗ്നി ,ജാലകം ,ആരണ്യകം , ഉള്ളടക്കം തുടങ്ങി അനേകം അതി വിശിഷ്ട്ട സൃഷ്ട്ടികള്‍ക്ക് ജന്മം കൊടുത്ത പ്രതിഭകള്‍ തന്നെ ,ഇവിടെ കലാതാണ്ടവം നടത്തുകയാണോ?അടുത്ത കാലത്തൂ ഇറങ്ങങ്ങിയ ചിത്രങ്ങളുടെ പേരു തന്നെ നോക്കൂ....
മാടമ്പി,പ്രമാണി,ചട്ടമ്പി നാട് ,താന്തോന്നി ,പോക്കിരിരാജാ ,എസഎമ്എസ്,റിംഗ് ടോണ്‍ ,പാപ്പി അപ്പച്ചാ അങ്ങനെ നീളുന്നൂ കലാ ഉദ്ധാരണം.
ഇനി സംഗീതം എടുത്താല്‍ എത്ര അര്‍ത്ഥ പൂര്‍ണമാണ് ഇന്നത്തെ ഗാനങ്ങള്‍ .
ചാഞ്ചാടും തീരമോ സ്റ്റയില്‍ അല്ലെ ?,അസ്സലായ് ഗസലായി നീ ,ചോക്കലെടു പോലുള്ള നിന്‍റെ ഉരുണ്ട മേനി അങ്ങനെ പാടി നീളും.......
ദേവ ദുന്ദുഭി സാന്ദ്രലയം ,രാമകഥാ ഗാനലയം ,ദേവി ആത്മ രാഗമേ,തുടങ്ങി അനേകം അനശ്വര ഗാനങ്ങള്‍ നമ്മുക്ക് സമ്മാനിച്ച ആള്‍ തന്നെയാണ് പൈനാപ്പിള്‍ പെണ്ണേ ,ചോക്കലേറ്റ് പീസേ എന്നും എഴുതിയത് എന്ന് ഓര്‍ക്കുക.

A good cinema can make you laugh, cry, think and also be very relaxing. So when the options are "themmadi", "gunda", "nallavan", you pick the best out of the options and apparently that becomes a hit and a trend is set. The next thing you know, you have all the producers trying to make a cinema with the same forumla. The future of malayalam cinema does not seem that great either. There are very few students graduating with a strong command in malayalam language to be the next MT. Our society is not so inclined towards teaching their kids malayalam and plus everyone wants to be an engineer, doctor, scientist, everyone wants to work in the USA, England or other foriegn countries. I guess there are many other factors that adds to the current situation, especially money, but I just wrote my thoughts.....
